THE organisers of the Le Mans 24-hour race, L'Automobile Club de l'Ouest, decided yesterday to seek greater compensation for losses sustained at this year's event. It is to appeal against a court ruling last week which ordered the International Automobile Federation to pay Fr1.65m ( pounds 207,000) for failing to provide a minimum entry of 50 cars and appropriate television coverage. The ACO had sought Fr37m.
