BERLIN yesterday applied to host the Games in 2000. Peking, Sydney, Istanbul, Milan, Manchester and Brasilia have also applied.

JUAN ANTONIO SAMARANCH, the IOC president, yesterday said that national football teams in Atlanta would probably be allowed to include three over-23 players as well as the under-23s allowed at present. Samaranch also said that it was unlikely golf would be admitted as an Olympic sport.
