LACK of snow has caused the weekend's men's downhill and slalom World Cup races to be moved within Austria from Kitzbuhel to St Anton and Lech. St Anton will stage the downhill on Saturday with the slalom in Lech on Sunday.

MARCO GIRARDELLI, the overall leader, recorded his fourth World Cup victory of the season in a super-giant slalom at St Anton, Austria, yesterday. The 29-year-old from Luxembourg finished in 1min 28.53sec for his 40th World Cup win. He is now level with the retired Pirmin Zurbriggen, of Switzerland, as the second biggest World Cup winner, 26 victories short of Ingemar Stenmark's record.
