PAT CASH, the former Wimbledon champion, has withdrawn from this year's Australian Open because of stress fractures in his left knee. Cash, 27, said in the statement that doctors told him to take a month-long rest from tennis to allow the injury to heal. 'After recovering, I am planning to play an extensive schedule of tournaments this year and hope to be available for the Davis Cup,' he said.
