PROBLEMS with photo-finish equipment have forced the International Amateur Athletic Federation to change two world records set by the Russian sprinter, Irina Privalova, and the Algerian, Noureddine Morceli. Privalova's time of 6.00sec for the women's indoor 50 metres, set in Moscow on 2 February, was invalid because the photo-finish camera, which also records the exact time, was not on the finishing line. Privalova's time of 6.05, set at the same meeting, would now stand as the world record. Morceli's record of 3min 28.82sec for the men's outdoor 1500 metres, set last September was also changed by four hundredths of a second to 3:28.86.
