THE New York Mets and Kansas City Royals swapped left fielders, the Mets sending Vince Coleman and a dollars 500,000 (pounds 345,000) cash adjustment to the Royals for the former New York Met, Kevin McReynolds. The Mets had been trying to trade Coleman since he was charged for injuring two children and a woman when he threw a firework in the Los Angeles Dodgers car park in July.
