Sporting Digest: Basketball

The union for locked-out National Basketball Association players spent yesterday finalising its "final" offer. With the owners' deadline of 7 January for saving the season approaching, the union was expected to make a counter offer either late last night or today. The owners presented their "final" offer earlier this week.
