Bangladesh will tour New Zealand next month to play three one- day internationals. They qualified to play limited-overs internationals five months ago when they won the International Cricket Championship. They will also play three four-day matches against New Zealand.

The Glamorgan captain, Matthew Maynard, will lead England against New Zealand on the three-day Cricket Max tour that begins on 31 October. Also in the 12-strong squad of English Lions is Phillip DeFreitas, Chris Lewis and Robin Smith.

Frank Kemp is to leave his post as Kent's director of cricket development to become cricket operations manager for the England and Wales Cricket Board on October 27.
