A second athlete, the Nigerian sprinter Paul Egonye, has tested positive for a banned stimulant at the All Africa Games in Harare, Zimbabwe. Egonye ran in the 4x100 metres men's relay final on Saturday, which Nigeria won. The team have been stripped of their gold medal.

China's Du Xiujie, the women's 200 metres gold medallist at the World Student Games in Japan, has tested positive for the banned drug, strychnine. The Chinese athlete is the first and only drug offender announced since the 12-day event held in Fukuoka in August.
