Leeds have released the 19-year-old Andrew Quinn from his contract by mutual consent. The Elland Road club paid pounds 75,000 compensation to take Quinn from Sheffield Wednesday.

George Weah, Milan's Liberian forward, formerly of Monaco and Paris St Germain, has been voted African Player of the Century. The vote by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics put Cameroon's Roger Milla, who played in the 1982 and 1990 World Cup finals, in second place.
