Slough Town were expelled from the GM Vauxhall Conference yesterday after failing to comply with the league's requirements for a minimum number of seats. Telford United have consequently been reprieved from relegation.

The Swindon manager, Steve McMahon, hopes to sign Northern Ireland centre half Darren Patterson this week. Patterson is a free agent at the end of his Luton contract.

The Port Vale manager, John Rudge, is having signing talks with Swindon keeper Fraser Digby who is out of contract and moving on. Rudge has a crisis with his three senior keepers also free agents.
