ALLAN SIMONSEN, the 41-year-old former Charlton Athletic, Barcelona and Danish international forward, is the new coach of the Faroe Isles. He has signed a part-time contract until 1995 November, and will continue in his current job as the coach of the Danish club, Vejle. He replaces Pall Gudlaugsson, who resigned last year.

RYAN ANDERTON, the 18-year-old brother of the Tottenham forward, Darren Anderton, has begun a week's trial at White Hart Lane after being released by Portsmouth.

BERNIE SLAVEN, the former Republic of Ireland striker, has had his contract with Port Vale terminated by mutual consent and is considering offers from Falkirk and Darlington.
