SCARBOROUGH yesterday acquired their third chairman in six weeks when John Russell, a 38-year-old property developer, agreed to buy 70 per cent of the Third Division club's shares. He is to replace David Simpson, the former Bradford City chairman who took over at Scarborough from Geoffrey Richmond.
THE Santos trainer, Pepe, who played alongside Pele at the club in the 1960s, has resigned following Sunday's 4-1 defeat by Palmeiras. Their former striker, Serginho, who played for Brazil in the 1982 World Cup, has replaced Pepe.
REAL MADRID, who sacked their coach, Benito Floro, on Monday, have appointed Vicente del Bosque, a former player and a member of the club's technical staff, as caretaker- coach.
