CELTIC have discussed the possibility of leasing Hampden Park next season from their Glasgow neighbours Queen's Park. Work will start shortly on turning Parkhead into an all-seat stadium should Celtic's proposed move to Cambuslang fall through, and Hampden, renovated at a cost of pounds 12m to seat 28,000 spectators, is earmarked for use in the interim.

ANDY GORAM the Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper has been named Player of the Year by the Scottish Football Writers' Association.

ADOLF VOGL, the last surviving member of Austria's successful 1931-33 team, has died at the age of 82. Vogl played 20 times on the left wing for his country, scoring the first of his seven goals on his debut in May 1931 during a 5-0 defeat of Scotland. Over the next two years Austria won 12 out of 15 matches, losing only once, narrowly, to England at Stamford Bridge.
