LEEDS UNITED'S friendly against the Japanese club, Grampus Eight, has been moved from 21 to 24 April.

KIERAN TOAL, the Republic of Ireland Under-21 forward, has joined Motherwell from Manchester United on a free transfer.

SALGUEIROS have sacked their Montenegrin coach, Zoran Filipovic, after six successive defeats in the Portuguese First Division. A former player, Mario Reis, replaces Filipovic, who took charge five years ago.

XAVIER GRAVELAINE, the leading scorer in the French league, is reported to have signed an agreement to join the champions, Marseille, from Caen for Fr17m ( pounds 2.1m), when the transfer season opens on 15 May.

ATLETICO MADRID'S Argentinian coach, Omar Pastoriza, has resigned after a month because of a dispute about the involvement of the club president, Jesus Gil, in team selection. His deputy, Yselin Santos Ovejero, another Argentinian, replaces him.

MARCO VAN BASTEN'S ankle injury forces him to miss Milan's European Cup semi-final group match with IFK Gothenburg, of Sweden, next month.
