THE PGA European Seniors tour will commemorate the D-Day landings with a new tournament, the D-Day Senior Open, at Omaha Beach Golf Course, Normandy, from 8 to 10 June. The event will replace the Czech Senior Open, which will now be inaugurated in 1995.

THE first round of the Costa Azul women's Open in Lisbon was abandoned yesterday when gale-force winds and torrential rain waterlogged the Montado course. The tournament will now be played over 54 holes.
