The FIA, motor sport's governing body, has delayed a decision on cancelling the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix until 15 February. The race is under threat because of a Belgian law banning tobacco advertising. Only two weeks ago the FIA had extended its deadline to mid-January for the authorities to solve the problem.

The New Zealander Craig Baird will fill the final remaining seat - in a Mondeo - in Ford's British Touring Car Championship challenge this season, putting an end to speculation that Nigel Mansell was to join the team.
