Wakefield Trinity, the First Division Grand Final winners, are "quietly confident" they will meet today's deadline for their application to joinSuper League. A decision will be announced at the RFL Council meeting on 28 October.

Craig Randall, the 26-year-old Salford back-row forward, is joining the Halifax Blue Sox. Randall has agreed a two-year contract with Halifax when his existing Salford deal expires at the end of the season.
