JOHN CUTLER, the probable skipper of Japan's 1995 Nippon Challenge for the America's Cup, and Chris Dickson, assured of backing for his own Tutukaka Challenge, easily won their way through to the finals of the pounds 65,000 Omega Gold Cup match racing in Bermuda yesterday. In the second group, Stuart Childerley, with three wins under his belt already, needed only two more wins from four starts in yesterday's the qualifying heats to join them. The series continues throughout the week.
HAROLD CUDMORE has been appointed sailing director to Marc Pajot's France America challenge for the 1995 America's Cup. He will join the syndicate in San Diego in December.
