BRITAIN and other Commonwealth nations will not have to choose between competing in the Commonwealth Games and the World Championships next year. The Championships are scheduled for 1 to 11 September in Rome while the Games are set for 18 to 28 August in Victoria, Canada. The American company holding the television rights to the Championships had wanted them to start on 26 August to avoid a clash with the US tennis Open in New York, but its demands have been over-ruled.
