Sir: Predictions for the new season:

(1) The Independent will rarely (if ever) print a piece on a Charlton Athletic game. Not even when the Premier Division aren't playing.

(2) Whenever I eagerly go to a piece with 'Charlton' in the headline, it will turn out to be Jack of that ilk.
