Sports Letters: No sponsor, no cry
Sir: Whilst watching the European Cup final one of the most pleasing aspects of the game was the absence of a sponsor's name on the players' shirts. No names of electrical companies, breweries or corner shops, just plain football shirts. Why should I wear a shirt with a sponsor's logo on? It's the club I support, not the sponsor. After all, I'm not paid anything by JVC.
