Sir: In view of the disadvantages suffered by UK soccer teams subjected to shirt-pulling by European opponents, perhaps our players could pioneer paper shirts, which would disintegrate by the handful without hindrance to the player's action.
It might require a regular supply of fresh shirts for use during such games. But until the continentals catch on we might have an advantage. I hesitate to suggest a similar proposal for shorts.
