An array of famous drivers and marques will grace Silverstone this weekend at the Coys International Historic Festival when vintage and classic racing cars show their paces. One particular entry, among the Maseratis, Aston Martins and Lotuses, is the Jaguar C-Type raced to victory at Le Mans 40 years ago. Sir Jack Brabham's son, David, who was part of the winning team at Le Mans this year in a Jaguar XJ220R, drives the C-type in the Champagne Charles Heidsieck race for 1950s sportscars.
How to get there: Silverstone Circuit, near Towcester, Northants, is signposted at junction 15 on M1, then A43. Admission: tomorrow pounds 12 adults, accompanied children under-16 free; Sunday pounds 15, free. Weekend ticket pounds 18. Qualifying tomorrow starts at 9am, with racing from 2pm. On Sunday, parades and demonstrations from 9am, with racing from noon. (Tel: 0327-857273).
