The Benson and Hedges RAC Veteran Car Run, an annual event from London to Brighton, provides a wealth of motoring statistics. There is an entry of 448 from 16 countries and 121 makes of car, all of them at least 89 years old. The No 1 plate is always allocated to the oldest car in the Run and this year's honour goes to the 100-year-old Benz Viktoria, owned by Timothy Garrett. With a top speed of 16mph, the car has completed 10 Brighton Runs. Among the unique entries are the oldest British Daimler (entry No 12), the world's oldest working electric car (No 15) and the last example of the first Riley (No 29).
