International Historic festival

Silverstone

Ferrari will be the featured marque this weekend at the Christie's International Historic Festival, Britain's largest historic and classic race meeting. Twenty-eight Ferraris will be on display, tracing the history of the marque from 1950s sports models to contemporary Formula One machines. One particular model to look out for is the stunning 250 GTO, introduced by Ferrari in 1962 as a competition car. Only 36 of this 3-litre V12 coupe were made and seven of them will be on display at Silverstone.

How to get there: Silverstone Circuit, near Towcester, Northamptonshire, is signposted at junction 15 on M1, then A43. (Tel: 0327- 857273). Admission: (tomorrow) pounds 8 adults, accompanied children 15 and under free; (Sunday) pounds 10 and free. Displays from 9.30am, first race at 1pm on both days.
