It was not to be Damon Hill's victory at Silverstone last year, despite setting a new lap record, after his engine failed on the 42nd lap while leading the British Grand Prix. This year he has the challenge of Michael Schumacher in the Benetton-Ford to face. Schumacher, who finished second to Alain Prost in 1993, has already set the fastest lap at the revamped circuit when testing at Silverstone recently.
