STEVE ROBINSON TO CONFIRM DEFENCE OF TITLE AGAINST NASEEM HAMED
Boxing
Steve Robinson, the World Boxing Organisation feather-weight champion, has been given a 48-hour deadline to confirm that he will make a defence against Naseem Hamed by the end of the month or the title becomes vacant. The fight is scheduled for Cardiff on 30 September, but a contractual problem has developed over purse money.
Ross Hale, of Bristol, is to challenge Puerto Rico's Sammy Fuentes for the WBO light-welterweight title in Shepton Mallett on 28 October.
