The club's owner, the publisher, David Sullivan, has agreed fees for two players - believed to be a striker and a defender. "We fully anticipate that these players will sign on the pitch before tomorrow's game," he said last night. "One of the players will really shock everybody." City had earlier pulled out of deals for the Stockport striker, Kevin Francis, and Ricky Otto, who has been transfer listed by Southend after failing to agree a new contract.
Bristol City have signed Richard Dryden, the Birmingham defender, in a £200,000 deal. Wolves are set to sign the former England midfielder, Gordon Cowans, from Derby County on Monday. The clubs have agreed a £20,000 fee with a further £10,000 payable if the 36-year-old plays 30 games for the Molineux club.Reuse content
