Tennis: Rusedski too tense
GREG RUSEDSKI admitted he turned in a below-par display in losing yesterday to the second seeded Jan Siemerink in the final of the ATP Tour event in Toulouse.
Rusedski was beaten 6-4 6-4 in just 62 minutes as the Dutchman collected the fourth title of his career and his second this year.
Rusedski said: "I didn't play too well today. I was a bit tense. I am disappointed - I didn't serve as well as I can, but he played solidly."
Rusedski identified the second game of the second set as the point where he finally slid out of contention.
"I was at 0-40 but I relaxed too much. I played well in the first four matches and that gave me a lot of confidence. If I had lost playing a good match that would have been a more positive thing. Maybe I wanted to win too much."
