Wimbledon 2015: Selfie sticks banned from All England Lawn Tennis Club
Ticket holders will not be permitted to enter the grounds if in possession of the self-portrait device
Wimbledon organisers have banned selfie sticks from this year's tournament.
The devices, which aid users in taking pictures of themselves by providing a longer reach, divide opinion but are increasingly popular.
The ticketholders' guide said: "In common with many other major sports and entertainment events and cultural attractions, the championships will not allow selfie sticks into the grounds."
A spokesperson for the All England Lawn Tennis Club told the Sunday Times that the move was partly because of the "nuisance value" but "primarily so it doesn't interfere with spectators' enjoyment".
Other sporting venues have moved to ban selfie sticks, with Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham among them.
