The number of baseballs the New York Mets expect to use this season. With a minimum of 81 games scheduled for Shea Stadium each year, fans are expected to account for around 2,500 balls (costing about pounds 2.50 each) by refusing to throw them back on to the field. The loss will cost the Mets some pounds 6,250.
