The years since Britain's Fred Perry won the United States Open men's singles championship, in 1934, when he defeated Wilmer Allison 8-6 in the fifth set. It was the second of his three US singles titles. The 85- year-old Perry, who lives in Florida, is at Flushing Meadow this week to mark the anniversary.
