Tyson in 'best shape ever'
Boxing
Mike Tyson is in the best condition of his life and completely focused on his comeback fight against Peter McNeeley on 19 August, according to the co-managers of the former world heavyweight champion.
"This is the best shape I've ever seen him be in his life," Rory Holloway said from Tyson's training camp in Orwell, Ohio. "Mike far exceeds the schedule that we had set for him."
According to Holloway and his co-manager, John Horne, Tyson is already in near ideal fighting shape, both physically and mentally. "To see the speed and power is incredible," Holloway said. "Right now he is extremely explosive."
Adhering to an all-day fitness and conditioning programme and watching his eating habits, Tyson weighs 15st 8lb, the exact weight the managers expect him to come into the ring against McNeeley at the MGM Grand.
They said Tyson would be fighting again before the end of the year, but did not say against whom. "We don't want to commit to anything right now," Horne said.
