Ronda Rousey has suffered the first loss of her UFC career after being knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of her title defence at UFC 193.

Holm landed a vicious head-kick knockout against Rousey on her way to becoming the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Speaking to Fox Sports, Holm said: “I have to say that everything that we worked on presented itself in the fight. Every kind of grab that she tried to get and clinch on the cage. I have no spent this much time in the gym before any fight in my life.”

Holm dominated the fight with many UFC fans taking to Twitter to speak of their shock at how easily Rousey was defeated.

After the fight, Rousey was taken to hospital. UFC president Dana White has revealed Rousey did not suffer any injuries other than a split lip.

In the lead up to the fight Holm was touted as a 20-to-1 underdog. Rousey’s loss takes her professional record to 12 wins and one loss.
