The Baltimore Orioles home game against the Chicago White Sox was postponed half an hour before the game was due to start following violent protests near their Camden Yard ground.

Freddie Gray died in police custody on Monday and protesters have clashed with police.

The team announced on Twitter: "After consultation with Baltimore City Police Department, tonight's game between the Orioles & White Sox at Oriole Park has been postponed."

The club say they will announce the new date for the match as soon as possible.

They posted in a second tweet: "An announcement regarding a make-up date will be made asap. Fans are encouraged to keep their tickets & parking until more info is available."
