Doc Rivers agrees five-year extension to stay with Los Angeles Clippers
Head coach will stay until the 2019 season
Doc Rivers has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Los Angeles Clippers until 2019.
The five-year extension is worth more than $50million, according to Yahoo Sports.
Last season Rivers led the Clippers, recently bought for $2bn by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, to a franchise-best 57 wins and a division title.
The Clippers were eventually beaten by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semi-finals.
"This is an important day for this organization,” Ballmer said. “I am excited to work with Doc for a long time as we build a championship culture that will deliver results both on and off the court."
