The British Senior Tournament Championships this weekend at Thorpe Park has a minimum age entry of 25. The oldest competitors are Victor Winter, 72, and Margaret Ballard, 63. Philippa Roberts, 32, from Manchester has even brought her mother, Raine. Roberts, who has been the British women's overall champion since 1985, is using this tournament to prepare for the European Championships in Milan next weekend while her mother skies in the women's 50 and over category. More than 80 entrants will compete in tournament skiing's three disciplines: slalom, trick and jump.

How to get there: Thorpe Park is signposted from junctions 11 or 13 of M25. Go past main entrance on right and turn right at roundabout on to B388. The Paul Seaton Ski School is situated over motorway. Admission: free. Programme starts at 8.30am tomorrow and 9am on Sunday. (Tel: 0932-569610).
