WIND AFFECTS TEACHER'S ROUND BRITAIN CHALLENGE
Sailing
The second leg of the Teacher's Round Britain Challenge has been shortened because of forecasts of light winds. Instead of going round the outside of Ireland, the 10 yachts set off yesterday afternoon from Cardiff to go up the Irish Sea to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Wales lead after the England I boat, Spirit of Docklands, winner of the first leg, was penalised seven places for a start-line incident. The French were penalised, but retain second place with Scotland. England are fourth and Ireland fifth.
