An award to be proud of...

In July 2007, students travelled to London to receive their prizes for writing outstanding essays under the title "Ecology & technology: how can modern technologies protect the environment?"


2007 winner Lloyd Evans - from The Warriner School in Bloxham, Banbury - received his award from Michael McCarthy, Editor for the Environment of the Independent Newspaper. As winner of the 14-18 age group, Lloyd's essay was published in The Independent in July 2007.


Aneeqa Meedin - runner up in the 19-24 age category - collected her prize from Philip Greenish, CEO of the Royal Academy of Engineering. The Royal Academy supports the Technology Horizons Award as part of the Shape the Future campaign.


In his opening speech, Robert Meier - Managing Director of Robert Bosch Ltd. - said that Bosch relies on the strengths and skills of its engineers to drive innovation, and is proud to be partner in this competition.


Runners up in the 14-18 age category received £150 each. All students who enter an essay receive a personal certificate to mark their achievement.
