<b>Bobby Moore</b><br/>
Moore was the man who led England to their greatest ever sporting achievement - the 1966 World Cup. He made his debut for the national side during preparation for the 1962 World Cup and impressed so much that he played in every match of that tournament. Then in 1963, at the age of 22, he became the youngest man to ever captain England at the highest level. He was handed the role full-time by Alf Ramsey a year later. He inspired England to lift the Jules Rimet trophy through his professionalism and example. He didn't need to scream and shout but let his football do the talking. The image of his gentlemanly gesture of wiping his hands clean of mud and sweat on his shorts before shaking hands with the Queen remains a timeless moment in English sporting history.
