While he produced some excellent performances for Chelsea towards the end of the season, questions remain about the ageing Petr Cech’s consistency and Tim Krul is one player reportedly being lined up as his long-term replacement. The 24-year old Dutchman managed 15 clean sheets last season, second only to Joe Hart and was a key component in Newcastle’s excellent campaign. Having recently signed a lengthy deal with the Magpies, Krul would not be prised away from St James’ Park cheaply although it is thought that Mike Ashley could be tempted by a big offer.
