Travel Challenge: A wildlife tour of Borneo
Saturday 26 May 2012
Each week we invite three companies to give us their best deal for a specific holiday. Today: a 10-day wildlife tour in Borneo. Prices are per person, based on two sharing. Each includes Malaysia Airlines flights from Heathrow via Kuala Lumpur in the first week of July, with transfers, mixed-board hotels, guides and excursions.
Reef & Rainforest
Includes flights to Sandakan on 4 July. "Combining Sepilok, the Kinabatangan river and Lankayan island, this tour should reveal some of Borneo's most impressive wildlife, such as orang-utans and proboscis monkeys," says Jonathan Morris of Reef & Rainforest (01803 866965; reefandrainforest.co.uk).
Includes flights to Kota Kinabalu on 2 July. "You'll spend time at the Sepilok orang-utan sanctuary, three days on a Kinabatangan river safari, visit the beautiful island of Lankayan and get the chance to see green and hawksbill turtles," says Angela Jordan of Audley Travel (01993 838114; audleytravel.com).
Includes flights to Kota Kinabalu on 5 July. "Our 'Reefs and Rainforest' tour includes visits to Sepilok, Sukau, the Kinabatangan river and Kinabalu national park, along with a local homestay," says Jenny Hendry of Explore Tailormade (0844 875 1890; explore.co.uk/tailormade).
