Travel Challenge: Madrid
Friday 30 November 2012
Each week, we invite three companies to offer us their best deal for a specific break. Today: a city break in the Spanish capital before Christmas. Prices are per person, based on two travelling together. Each includes three nights' accommodation and flights to Madrid on Saturday 15 December.
British Airways Holidays
Includes BA flights from Heathrow and room-only at the InterContinental. "This five-star hotel is inspired by an 18th-century palace. It's located in the heart of the cultural district, close to many bars and restaurants," says Susan Gellately (08444 930758; ba.com/madrid).
Includes Ryanair flights from Stansted, transfers and B&B at Casón del Tormes, with admission to either the Prado, Thyssen or Reina Sofia museums. "With a superb location off Plaza de España, the hotel offers good-quality at a reasonable price," says Edward Coltart (020-7593 2283; kirkerholidays.com).
Includes easyJet flights from Gatwick and B&B at the Occidental Miguel Angel. "The Miguel Angel is surrounded by charming sidewalk cafés and restaurants, making it a great base from which to explore the city," says Mandy Round (0843 104 1000; easyjet.com/holidays).
