IN ONE of the year's more unusual travel promotions, Italian State Railways is selling cheap tickets to members of Hostelling International (to join, contact the YHA of England and Wales or the Scottish or Northern Irish YHAs). From 11 September, cardholders get 20 per cent off second-class fares, but 30 per cent off first class.
