Departures: Round the camp fire

NOT all Scouts and Guides are taking the option of holding their 'camp' at Euro Disney (Departures, 1 August). Barrie Wood writes to say that Norfolk Scouts camp in the traditional style ('although environmental restrictions often prevent use of wood fires in favour of bottled gas').

This week Norfolk Scouts have been running their 'Scoutreach' camp and have invited Guides to take part. 'We share the camp with young people who are either handicapped or disadvantaged in some way. The camps usually attract about 100 youngsters, of whom two-thirds are Guides and Scouts, the remainder being young people with special needs.'
