This quiet cove just north of Ibiza Town is home to a chic new hangout that opened in April. Conceived by party-goer, promoter, and former owner of Azuli Records, Dave Piccioni, it offers yoga lessons at sunrise, a crèche for children during the day and DJs spinning chill-out music as evening falls. The raised restaurant looks out across Sol d'en Serra bay and serves fresh seafood such as char-grilled lobster, with classic champagne cocktails and martinis.

Blue Marlin, Cala Jondal

Service "by beautiful for beautiful people". That's the motto at this exclusive address on the south coast. Here, you can relax on the shingle shore of Cala Jondal as a steady stream of private yachts drop anchor in the bay beyond, have a massage on the beach, or even watch one of the regular fashion shows. Later, dine on grilled prawn and mango salad, sink frozen daiquiris as the sun sets, then party late into the night with resident DJs Tom Crane and Vidal Rodriguez.

Ushuaia, Playa d'en Bossa

White sand, white daybeds and white parasols meet at one of the White Isle's brightest beach clubs. Located on the east coast, just opposite Space, it has quirky, playful hotel rooms upstairs and big-name acts such as Luciano, Swedish House Mafia and Avicii in residence each week. When temperatures on the beach cool, the action moves in towards the huge neon-lit pool, where DJs entertain thronging crowds from the decks of an open-air stage.

Nassau, Playa d'en Bossa

Wooden decking and Balinese statues lead the way to this hip hedonists' hangout. Here, you can order club sandwiches and sangria to your sunbed and then spruce up to sample the fine-dining restaurant at night. Dishes include delicious portions of lobster ravioli and paella, with more experimental offerings such as the "hot ice cream" starter. Late-night events take place throughout the summer and include full moon parties and a Studio 54 themed disco night.

Jockey Club, Las Salinas

This family-run favourite has been shacked up on the shore of Las Salinas beach since 1993. Its traditional chiringuito (beach restaurant) serves upmarket Ibicencan food – crisp calamari, diced scallops and cured ham – with a drinks list comprised of Spanish wines and cocktails. The music is low-key and laid-back – playing from late afternoon to early evening. But if that still sounds too lively, then breakfast is the time to repair with strong coffee and wholesome fruit-topped muesli.

This left-field chill-out bar aims to channel "the hippy spirit of India in the Eighties" and is known among islanders as one of the best places to watch the sun set on the west coast. Located just across from the bustling bars of San Antonio, on Cala de Bou beach, it has a laid-back feel with an Asian-fusion restaurant and daily activities from percussion workshops to capoeira dance classes. The bohemian ambience is rounded off with a craft market, scattered cushions and sheesha pipes.
