Travel Challenge: European Christmas markets
Friday 26 October 2012
Each week we invite three companies to offer us their best deal for a specific break. Today: a festive escape to one of Europe’s atmospheric Christmas markets in December. Prices are per person, based on two sharing. Each includes three nights’ accommodation and transport to the respective cities.
Includes BA flights from Heathrow on 5 December, transfers and B&B at the Plaza Alta Hotel. “Prague has two main markets in Old Town and Wenceslas squares and this fantastic deal lets you experience all the magic of the Czech capital at Christmas on a budget,” says Katie Elson. Includes Eurostar from London St Pancras to Lille on 12 December and room-only at the five-star Hermitage Gantois Hotel. “With the main square turned into a winter wonderland in December, Lille is a great place to enjoy festive cheer,” says Lionel Benbassat. (08432 186 186; eurostar.com)
Includes Eurostar from London St Pancras to Brussels, ICE train to Cologne on 10 December and B&B at the Classic Hotel Harmonie. “This great-value break combines return rail travel with a hand-picked hotel close to the city’s famous Christmas market,” says Giles Latham.
