Travel Challenge: Half term in Portugal
Friday 20 April 2012
Each week, we invite three companies to offer us their best deal for a specific holiday. Today: a family holiday in Portugal during half term. Prices are based on two adults and two children travelling. Each package includes flights from the UK on Saturday 2 June, transfers and a week's accommodation.
£2,446: Vila Gale Nautico Hotel, Algarve
Includes Thomas Cook Airlines flights from Manchester to Faro and an all-inclusive stay at the Vila Gale Nautico Hotel in Armacao de Pera. "This modern, quality hotel is great for families. Parents can relax while the children enjoy the KidsWORLD club, which is run by fully qualified UK staff," says Trish Hughes of Thomas Cook (0844 412 5970; thomascook.com).
£3,436: Aqualuz Suite Hotel, Alentejo
Includes TAP Portugal flights from Heathrow to Lisbon and B&B accommodation at the Aqualuz Suite Hotel on the Troia peninsula. "With 15km of immaculate, white, sandy beach, Roman ruins to visit, and mountain bikes to explore on, the Troia peninsula offers an excellent place to take the family for some early summer sun away from the crowds," says Rosanna Melaragni of Sunvil Discovery (020-8758 4722; sunvil.co.uk).
