Until noon on Friday, Monarch has a "summer clearance" sale on departures between now and the end of the summer season in October. One-way fares to destinations such as Palma, Faro and Barcelona are £49.99. The airline says school summer holiday dates are included. monarch.co.uk
Later... Take a winter's sail in Norway
Norway's coastal ferry service, the Hurtigruten, is offering free flights between Gatwick and Bergen when you book an Arctic voyage this winter. Examples include the 12-day Classic Round Voyage which costs £1,099pp including flights, between October and December. hurtigruten.co.uk
